Otti Charges Abia LP Members on Unity, Grassroots Mobilisation

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has charged members of the Labour Party (LP) to strengthen unity, discipline and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Otti gave the charge yesterday, at the Arochukwu Kingdom Mega Rally, where he was represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu.

The Governor urged new members who joined the party from opposition political parties to see their admission as an opportunity to contribute to strengthening the party rather than as a platform for promoting individual interests.

Representing Otti, Emetu urged the new entrants to abide by the LP constitution and uphold the discipline expected of party members. He also advised political aspirants and leaders to remain humble, accessible and committed to the interests of the people.

According to him, obtaining a party ticket is only the beginning of political responsibility, stressing that personal ambition should not override the collective interests of the people.

The Deputy Governor further emphasised the importance of building the party from the polling-unit, ward and community levels. He urged party executives to maintain close contact with constituents and increase the participation of youths and women in grassroots mobilisation.

Emetu also said the Otti administration remained committed to strengthening institutions and advancing development in infrastructure, healthcare, education and employment.
