The Director-General and Campaign Manager of the ADC/Atiku Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Austin Akobundu, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary, commending their resilience amid the severe hardship imposed by the current federal government.

Senator Akobundu, who represents Abia Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly and serves as the African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidate for Abia Central in the forthcoming general elections, said Nigerians’ unshaken faith in the country, despite a battered economy, worsening insecurity, and deepening sociopolitical crises, embodies the true Nigerian spirit of perseverance, courage, and fortitude.

He urged citizens to stay committed to taking control of their destiny by voting for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 polls. According to him, Atiku remains the only candidate with the proven capacity, requisite experience, and a clear, actionable blueprint to end the prevailing hardship and usher in a new era of shared prosperity.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a detribalised Nigerian, an avowed unifier, a tested administrator, a foremost entrepreneur, and a respected elder statesman,” Akobundu stated. “He is uniquely positioned to heal the wounds of economic distress, insecurity, strife, and division inflicted by the current administration, and to place Nigeria firmly on a lasting path of peace, unity, progress, and prosperity.”

He concluded with a rallying call: “Let us keep hope alive. 2027 is already upon us, and the power to reset Nigeria rests with the people. Happy Independence!”
