Ndiegoro Women Celebrate August Meeting as Mayor of Aba South, Hon. Obialor Anyanwu Unveils New Uniform
The virtuous women of Ndiegoro Community in Aba South Local Government Area of Abia State have celebrated their annual August Women Meeting with renewed commitment to community development, unity and progress, as the Executive Chairman of Aba South LGA, Hon. Obialor Denis Anyanwu, joined them for the occasion on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The colourful event, held at the Ndiegoro Village Hall, also featured the official unveiling of the women’s brand-new uniform, drawing prominent sons and daughters of Ndiegoro, community leaders and other distinguished guests from within and outside the area.
Mayor Obialor Anyanwu commended the women for their initiative, organisation and dedication to the growth of their community. He described their collective efforts as an important contribution to grassroots development and encouraged them to sustain the spirit of unity, purposeful planning and active participation in community affairs.
As part of his support for the women, the Mayor made a generous donation towards the success of their programme and specifically supported the official launch of their new uniform, adding colour and significance to an already memorable gathering.
The event also attracted the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa, former Chairman of Aba South Local Government Area, Hon. C. C. Nwogu, as well as other prominent leaders and stakeholders who joined the women in celebrating the occasion.
The August Women Meeting remains one of the significant annual gatherings through which Igbo women come together to deliberate on issues affecting their communities, formulate policies, implement decisions and develop strategies for the future.
For the Ndiegoro women, this year’s meeting carried an even deeper significance, providing a platform to strengthen their collective resolve and chart a fresh course for the growth, unity and sustainable development of Ndiegoro Community.
The gathering ultimately underscored the increasingly important role of women in grassroots leadership and community development, with the Ndiegoro women using the occasion not only to celebrate their identity and unity but also to renew their commitment to building a stronger and more prosperou
