Veteran Nollywood actor Sunday Afolabi has opened up about the financial hardship he experienced after relocating to Badagry, revealing that he sold his Nissan Quest for N180,000 and bought a fairly used motorcycle to survive.

Afolabi shared the emotional story during an interview with Biola Adebayo on the Talk to B podcast, where he spoke about the decline in acting and photography jobs after moving away from the city.

According to the actor, he relocated to Badagry because he wanted to own a house. However, the move affected his career, leaving him struggling to provide for himself and his family.

He explained that his Nissan Quest became unusable because he could not afford to repair it and remained unused for almost two years.

“I actually sold my Nissan Quest to buy a fairly used motorcycle,” Afolabi said, adding that he sold the vehicle for N180,000.

The actor said he was not used to riding motorcycles and suffered multiple falls while using the Okada.

Afolabi became emotional as he recalled the difficulties he and his family experienced during the period. He also recounted meeting someone who recognised him as a television star but was surprised to see him struggling.

According to him, the man advised him to return to the city and seek help from people he knew.

“What I h@te most in my life is to beg for food. I would rather do any legitimate job,” he said.

Afolabi also said he remains willing to work and would use a good car for Uber if he had one.

Following the revelation, Biola Adebayo appealed to the public to support the veteran actor. She expressed hope that the Talk to B platform could help him secure a car, better accommodation and a means of livelihood.
