Nigeria’s Inflation Falls to 15.43 Percent in July

Nigeria’s headline inflation rate fell to 15.43 percent in July 2026 from 15.91 percent in June, according to the latest Consumer Price Index report.

The July figure represents a 0.48 percentage-point decline month-on-month and a sharp drop from 24.94 percent recorded in July 2025.

Despite the lower inflation rate, Nigeria’s CPI increased to 145.3 points in July from 143.0 points in June.

Nigeria’s headline inflation rate fell to 15.43 percent in July 2026 from 15.91 percent in June, representing a 0.48 percentage-point decline.

The latest figure was contained in the Consumer Price Index report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

On a year-on-year basis, headline inflation fell sharply from 24.94 percent recorded in July 2025.

However, the Consumer Price Index increased to 145.3 points in July from 143.0 points in June, indicating that consumer prices continued to rise despite the slower inflation rate.

The full CPI report is expected to provide further details on food inflation, core inflation and the month-on-month movement in prices.
