APC Support Groups Seek Partnerships, Funding Ahead of 2027

The Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators has called for strategic partnerships, institutional support and sustainable funding to strengthen its structures and grassroots programmes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The coalition made the call during a courtesy visit by its national executive members to the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund (NALTF), Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, in Abuja.

Nwawuba is currently the Executive Secretary of the NALTF.

The delegation, led by the National Convener, Comrade Richard M. Onyebuwa, used the meeting to present the coalition’s vision and objectives and seek guidance on building stronger relationships with relevant stakeholders.

Onyebuwa said the coalition was established to provide a coordinated platform for APC support groups and their national coordinators to work together, strengthen grassroots structures and improve coordination among member organisations.

He added that the coalition was seeking strategic partnerships to enhance its capacity for grassroots mobilisation, leadership development and other programmes.

Responding, Nwawuba welcomed the delegation and commended its leadership for efforts to establish a coordinated organisational framework.

He advised the coalition to develop a credible and sustainable structure, stressing the importance of strategic relationships and partnerships in achieving its objectives.

Nwawuba also spoke on political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections and expressed support for efforts connected with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

He encouraged the coalition to explore collaboration with the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), chaired by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, saying cooperation among established support structures could enhance coordination and organisational development.

The former lawmaker further advised the coalition to identify legitimate and sustainable funding sources for its programmes and activities.

Speaking during the visit, the National Director-General of the coalition’s Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. AlHassan Mohammed Baba, thanked Nwawuba for receiving the delegation and providing guidance.

Baba, who delivered the vote of thanks, said the observations and advice offered during the engagement would be considered as the coalition continues to develop its structures, programmes and relationships with stakeholders.

The coalition said the visit formed part of its efforts to strengthen engagement with key stakeholders and build a coordinated network of APC support-group leaders across the country.

The meeting ended with a group photograph after Nwawuba requested that the engagement be concluded because of his other official commitments.

The coalition said it would continue its stakeholder engagements as it develops its programmes, committees and grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 political season.
