“If They Can Threaten Me, Imagine Ordinary Nigerians”- Woman Accuses Security Operatives at Delta Checkpoint of Death Threats

A woman has accused security operatives attached to Operation Storm in Delta State of threatening to shoot and kill her during a heated confrontation at a checkpoint, alleging that some of the officers appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the visibly distressed woman claimed the officers intimidated her after she attempted to challenge their actions. She also alleged that one of the officers, whom she identified as Fulani, should be deployed to the North to fight insurgents instead of harassing civilians.

“They said they would shoot and kill me. If they can threaten a woman of my caliber like this, imagine what ordinary citizens go through. One of the officers was Fulani. He should be sent back to the North. Someone like him should be fighting Boko Haram, not being posted here.”

The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the woman’s allegations and calling for professionalism and accountability from security personnel. Others, however, urged caution, noting that the full circumstances surrounding the confrontation remain unclear.
