FATHER’S DAY: Dr. Chimaobi Anyaso Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Alexx Ekubo, Celebrates His Legacy of Love and Kindness
As families across the world marked Father’s Day 2026, renowned businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, paid a heartfelt tribute to his late brother and friend, Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke, popularly known as Chief Ikuku, whose sudden passing continues to leave a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In an emotional reflection, Dr. Anyaso described Alexx as more than a friend, recalling a relationship built on shared roots, mutual respect, and countless meaningful conversations about life, faith, purpose, and personal growth.
According to him, every encounter with the late Chief Ikuku was marked by warmth, sincerity, laughter, and genuine affection. He noted that Alexx consistently demonstrated immense love and respect, making him not only a cherished companion but also a beloved younger brother.
Dr. Anyaso also shared a personal regret that has remained with him since Alexx’s passing. He revealed that a few weeks before the tragic loss, he had reached out to Alexx’s close friend, IK Ogbonna, to inquire about his well-being and was assured that he was doing fine. Although he had intended to personally call and check on him, that opportunity never came.
While acknowledging the pain of that missed moment, he expressed faith in God’s divine will, emphasizing that humanity must ultimately submit to the sovereignty of the Almighty.
Despite not having biological children, Dr. Anyaso said Alexx deserved to be honoured on Father’s Day because fatherhood extends beyond biological ties. He stressed that true fatherhood is reflected in the impact one makes on others, the lives touched, the kindness shown, and the joy shared with humanity.
He described the late Chief Ikuku as a father figure in many respects, noting that he possessed a rare ability to brighten the lives of others. Alexx was remembered as a generous, selfless, and compassionate individual who never hesitated to offer help and support whenever needed.
According to the tribute, the late Alexx left behind countless cherished memories and touched numerous lives through his good heart, humility, and unwavering willingness to uplift others.
Dr. Anyaso further stated that one of his greatest sources of comfort is the belief that Alexx loved God deeply. While his absence continues to be mourned, he expressed confidence that the late Chief Ikuku is resting peacefully in the presence of the Almighty, free from pain, sorrow, and separation.
As the Father’s Day celebration unfolded, Dr. Anyaso honoured the memory of his departed brother, thanking him for the friendship, respect, laughter, and love they shared throughout the years.
He concluded by affirming that although Alexx may no longer be physically present, his memory and legacy will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who knew him.
The tribute ended with a solemn farewell:
“Rest on, Chief Ikuku.
Rest on, Alex.
Until we meet again.”
The moving message serves as a reminder that the true measure of a person’s life lies not only in the family they leave behind but also in the countless hearts they touch and the enduring impact they make on humanity.
