Their arrest is being seen as a major breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on kidnapping and other violent crimes in Edo state.

The development also reinforce Governor Monday Okpebholo’s vow to rid Edo State of criminal elements and make the state unsafe for kidnappers and other criminals.

Governor Okpebholo had repeatedly warned that those involved in criminal activities would be pursued and brought to justice regardless of where they choose to hide.

According to a member of the state oil and gas development commission Hon. Linda Omonzele, “residents are very appreciative of the efforts of the governor and security agencies which led to the arrest”.

She commended the governor and security agencies for their efforts, noting that the successful operation demonstrates that fleeing to another state is no guarantee against arrest.

She also expressed optimism on the speedy prosecution of kidnapping suspects, insisting that those found guilty should face the full weight of the law.

In the same vein the Promoter of Edo: Nigeria’s Construction Site, Mr. John Mayaki, “said the arrest sends a strong signal that the government’s resolve to tackle insecurity remains firm and that criminal elements will continue to be tracked down and apprehended wherever they are found.
