Suspected Thief Turns the Tables on Police, Throws Back Teargas Canisters From Drainage Gutter
A dramatic and unusual confrontation between a suspected thief and police officers has sparked attention after the fleeing suspect reportedly turned a teargas operation into a chaotic standoff by throwing the canisters back at the officers attempting to flush him out of a drainage gutter.
The incident unfolded after the suspect, who was reportedly being pursued by the police, sought refuge inside a small concrete drainage tunnel, apparently hoping to evade arrest.
However, the officers surrounded the area as curious onlookers gathered to witness the unfolding drama. In an attempt to force the suspect out of his hiding place, the police began throwing teargas canisters into the narrow drainage passage.

Rather than surrendering or attempting to escape through another route, the man reportedly began picking up the teargas canisters thrown into the gutter and hurling them straight back at the officers.

As the confrontation intensified, thick clouds of smoke, including visibly blue-coloured gas, billowed from the drainage tunnel, creating a chaotic scene around the area.
The unexpected resistance soon sent panic through the gathering crowd, with onlookers scrambling to escape the spreading smoke. In a surprising twist, even some of the police officers were seen retreating as the suspect continued returning the teargas canisters from his unusual hiding place.
The bizarre encounter quickly took on an almost comical appearance, as an operation intended to flush out a fleeing suspect turned into an unusual back-and-forth exchange, with the man refusing to surrender and the officers struggling to bring the situation under control.
Despite the seemingly humorous nature of the confrontation, the incident highlights the unpredictable challenges security operatives can face when pursuing suspects in confined spaces and densely populated areas.
It remains unclear where and when the incident occurred, whether the suspect was eventually arrested, or whether anyone sustained injuries during the confrontation.
The unusual encounter has left onlookers with a remarkable scene of a suspect turning teargas into an unexpected weapon of resistance against the very officers trying to apprehend him.
