Dr. Chima Anyaso, Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, has engaged Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Lateef Kayode Kolawole Are, and the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, OON, in New York.
The engagements took place on the sidelines of activities marking the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Ambassador Are is Nigeria’s envoy to the United States, while Dabiri-Erewa leads NiDCOM, the federal agency responsible for coordinating Nigeria’s engagement with its citizens in the diaspora and promoting their contributions to national development.
According to Anyaso, the meetings formed part of his broader engagements around UNGA and provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on development, international partnerships and the role of the Nigerian diaspora in driving growth.
The Bende Federal Constituency candidate has continued to use his participation in UNGA-related activities to gain exposure to global development initiatives, networks and opportunities that could potentially be relevant to his constituency.
His engagements in New York also reflect his stated interest in exploring partnerships and ideas beyond conventional political representation to support economic development and improve the wellbeing of Ndi Bende.
