Mother Arrested In Anambra For Allegedly Using Hot Kn!fe On 7-Year-Old Daughter

  • Security operatives in Anambra State have arrested a 32-year-old woman, identified as Ogechi Ofoma, over the alleged severe physical ab¥se of her seven-year-old daughter in Obosi, Anambra State.

A 32-year-old mother, Ogechi Ofoma, has been arrested in Anambra State after her seven-year-old daughter, Oluebube Ofoma, was allegedly subjected to severe physical ab¥se in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area.

The child was reportedly rescued on Sunday, September 13, 2026, following the intervention of security personnel from Ibollo Community, Awada-Obosi, and concerned residents.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday.

According to Ikenga, the Command received a report in the evening of September 13 concerning alleged child ab¥se and severe bodily injuries involving the seven-year-old girl.

He said preliminary information indicated that the child had allegedly suffered severe physical ab¥se, including injuries reportedly inflicted with a hot kn!fe.

Following the intervention, the girl was rescued from further harm while her mother was arrested and Police action commenced.

Ikenga assured that the investigation would be thorough, professional and uncompromising, adding that the child’s safety, welfare and best interests remained paramount.
