August 19, () — The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, FSI, has honoured 600 police officers deployed to Osun State for the 2026 election duty, commending them for their exemplary conduct and professionalism during the assignment.
The officers were presented with Certificates of Commendation on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in recognition of their discipline, dedication, impartiality and commitment to duty during the electoral assignment.
The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
Azare described the officers’ conduct throughout the election duty as a reflection of the professionalism and discipline expected of personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, noting that their effective discharge of responsibilities in accordance with the law contributed to the successful execution of their mandate.
He commended the officers for representing the Akwa Ibom State Police Command with dignity and distinction, urging them to sustain the same standard of professionalism, discipline, impartiality and respect for the rule of law in future assignments.
The Commissioner said the recognition was not only a reward for the officers’ individual efforts but also an encouragement to other personnel to remain dedicated to duty and uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, CSP Soberekon Bamson thanked the Commissioner for recognising the officers’ efforts, describing the certificates as a major source of encouragement and motivation.
Bamson assured the Commissioner that the officers would remain committed to the effective discharge of their constitutional responsibilities while upholding the integrity and good image of the Nigeria Police Force in all future assignments.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to recognising excellence, rewarding professionalism and motivating its personnel to maintain high standards of discipline, integrity and service to the nation.
