Passing Out Parade: Eno urges graduating students to be good ambassadors

Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has urged the 2026 graduating students of Nigerian Navy Military School (NNMS) to be good ambassadors of the institution in the wider world.

Eno said this in a remarks during the 4th Passing Out Parade ceremony for the graduating students at NNMS parade ground in Ikot Ntuen in Akwa Ibom on Saturday.

Represented by Prof. Ubong Umoh, Commissioner for Education, Eno charged them to maintain the discipline, training and character learned during the six years of their studies.

The governor reminded the young sailors to be mindful of the changes in time and not forget where they came from.

He urged the graduating students to avoid being carried away by peer pressure and influence in the pursuit of their dreams.“Recalled that it had been a long road of late night, midday and morning, but you made it by your discipline, diligent and dedication against other possible odds

“Being inbuilt with these steering attributes, shielded you from engaging in whatever other forms of tendencies that would have made this not possible for you.“You should all be deeply proud of yourselves as you go into the next phase of your life.

I charge you to be good ambassadors of this institution anywhere you find yourself.“In your conversation with your superiors and subordinates, express yourselves with courtesy and respect in tones that speak for your training here,” Eno said.

The governor charged them to be diligent in carrying carry-out assigned tasks whether they were supervised or not.

“Having been in a military environment for six years, you must stand out to epitomise discipline in every aspect of your life,” he said.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Adm. Idi Abbas, urged the young sailors to exhibit the quality of training received in the outside world to succeed.

Abbas represented by the Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters, Rear Adm. Jonathan Mamman, said the graduating students had passed through military discipline and morals to excel in their future endeavours.

“Today is the beginning of another chapter in their life.
We hope to see them do wonders in the near future in different professions and walks of life.

“They should apply the discipline and good character learned here outside in their daily life to succeed,” he said.
