Gas Supply Disruption Triggers Temporary Power Outage Across Aba Ring-Fence
Residents and businesses within the Aba Ring-fence Area have been notified of a temporary disruption in electricity supply following gas supply constraints affecting Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL), the region’s primary power generation company.
In a power alert issued by Aba Power Management on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the company disclosed that GPAL is currently unable to generate electricity due to low gas supply pressure, which has prevented its turbines from operating.
According to the notice, the outage will remain in effect until gas pressure rises to the level required for normal power generation, after which electricity supply will be gradually restored to affected customers.
Aba Power Management assured consumers that it is working closely with Geometric Power Aba Limited and other relevant stakeholders to resolve the gas supply challenge and implement a lasting solution to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
The management expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the outage and appealed to customers for patience and understanding while efforts continue to restore stable electricity supply to the Aba Ring-fence Area.
