NKPORO OHAFIA — As 2027 general elections draw near, a political support group, Nkporo4PBAT Presidential and Alex Otti Governorship Campaign Council, has been unveiled in Abia State to mobilise support for re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Alex Chioma Otti.

Explaining the council’s political direction, the DG said the decision to support President Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Otti at the state level was informed by the need for strategic engagement with both levels of government.

He argued that such an alignment could create opportunities for Nkporo in such areas as federal appointments, employment, infrastructure, education, and other development initiatives.

On Tinubu administration, Dr. Ebei highlighted increased Federation Account allocations to states, efforts to strengthen foreign reserves, local refining initiatives, and the student loan scheme as developments the movement considered relevant to its decision.

He acknowledged the economic challenges confronting Nigerians but maintained that Nkporo should pursue strategic representation and engagement with the Federal Government to advance its interests.

At the state level, the Director-General praised Governor Otti’s administration, citing road infrastructure, salary payments, urban renewal and other developments in Aba and Umuahia.

He also expressed the view that continued engagement with the state government could improve Nkporo’s access to appointments, empowerment opportunities, and other government programmes.

While emphasising that the movement was not established as an extension of any political party, Dr. Ebei said membership and leadership structures were intended to accommodate people across party affiliations who share interest in the development of Nkporo.

He maintained that the council’s focus was on political collaboration around its stated objectives rather than partisan divisions.

Outlining his responsibilities as Director-General, Dr. Ebei pledged to lead the grassroots mobilisation campaign across Nkporo communities and among indigenes in the Diaspora.

He said the council would pursue engagement through community meetings, age-grade associations, markets, churches, and other platforms to communicate its objectives and expand participation.

The DG expressed confidence that the council could build an organised campaign structure capable of mobilising support for both President Tinubu’s re-election and Governor Otti’s second-term bid in 2027.

He concluded his speech with call for unity and collective commitment to the development of Nkporo, Abia State and Nigeria, under movement’s guiding message, “Maka Ọdịmma Nkporo! Maka Ọdịmma Abia! Maka Ọdịmma Nigeria!”
