Trump says the Iran war will end “very quickly”, claiming the “whole country” has been wiped out.

The US President predicts oil prices will “come tumbling down” once the conflict ends.

Iran rejects Trump’s claims, insisting its government remains stable and capable of defending the country.

Vance says Iran must make major nuclear concessions before Washington will agree to end the war.

October 8, () – US President Donald Trump has claimed that the “whole country” of Iran has been wiped out by the ongoing war, while predicting that the seven-month conflict will end “very quickly” and oil prices will subsequently “come tumbling down”.

Trump made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking to reporters before departing Washington for a Republican campaign rally in San Antonio, as the conflict continues to disrupt global energy markets and complicate diplomatic efforts to secure a settlement.

“It is a war from the standpoint of what we have to do. We have to get rid of the nuclear weapons for Iran. We have taken away their nuclear power. If they had nuclear power, you would have had problems like you have never had before.

“Their whole country right now is wiped out. It will be over very quickly, and when it does, oil prices will come tumbling down”, Trump claimed.

Oil Prices Remain Elevated

Trump’s prediction of falling oil prices comes as the war continues to put pressure on global energy supplies.

Oil prices have remained around the $100-a-barrel mark, with Brent crude settling at $100.20 a barrel on Tuesday before falling on Wednesday as the International Energy Agency moved to accelerate the release of emergency oil stocks.

The conflict has also heightened concerns over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil and gas shipments.

Trump has repeatedly linked the eventual end of the war to lower fuel prices, arguing that the restoration of energy flows would ease pressure on consumers and businesses.

Iran Rejects Washington’s Claims

Iran has rejected Trump’s description of the country’s political and economic situation.

Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani dismissed Trump’s claim that Iran’s oil minister resigned because of pressure from the war, describing it as “a futile effort to hide his own failures”.

Mohajerani said the resignation was not a sign of weakness but an example of flexibility within what she described as a stable political system.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, also maintained that Tehran remains determined to defend itself while pursuing diplomacy to protect its national interests and security.

Iran has also proposed a framework to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and revive negotiations. The proposal was rejected by Trump, while Washington subsequently put forward its own counterproposal.
