VIDEO: President Tinubu Meets With Security Chiefs, Review Strategies
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a strategic meeting with security chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to review the security situation across the country.
The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, led other service chiefs to the meeting.
Each agency head briefed Tinubu, Nigeria’s commander-in-chief, on ongoing efforts and strategies aimed at tackling insecurity in different parts of the nation.
They acknowledged improvement in the security situation in Nigeria with a resolve to build on the current achievements.
While they agreed that Intelligence will continue to play a critical role in the security arena of the nation, the service chiefs also resolved to strengthen collaboration with neighbouring countries for greater results.
The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, appears to underscore the administration’s continued focus on strengthening coordination among security agencies to restore peace and stability nationwide.
Thursday’s meeting is coming amid renewed moves by the Nigerian government to address insecurity across the country. President Tinubu has already sent the bill for the establishment of state police to the National Assembly as part of measures to restore stability to troubled zones and secure Nigeria.
