Women of Igbere in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State have declared their support for the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, ahead of the January 16, 2027, House of Representatives election.
The endorsement was announced on Thursday, October 8, 2026, during a gathering of members of Iyom Igbere at Amaukwu Hall, Igbere, where the women pledged to mobilise support for Anyaso, whom they described as their son.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mrs. Felicia Dimgba, Home Branch Leader of Iyom Igbere, said the gathering was convened to formally communicate the women’s position and demonstrate their confidence in Anyaso’s aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency.

She urged women across Igbere to participate actively in the forthcoming election and cast their votes for the Labour Party candidate, stressing the need for collective support for his ambition.
The endorsement was presented as a show of solidarity that transcended party affiliations, with the women emphasising their relationship with Anyaso and their expectations of purposeful representation for Igbere and Bende at large.
Responding, Anyaso expressed gratitude for the endorsement, describing the women as his mothers and appreciating their confidence in his candidacy.
He assured them that, if elected, he would prioritise the interests of women in Igbere and across Bende Federal Constituency, pledging to justify their trust through responsible representation and commitment to collective development.
The Labour Party candidate also promised not to disappoint the people of Igbere and the wider Bende community, calling for unity and cooperation in pursuing their common aspirations.
Those present at the meeting included the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Organisation, Pastor Okechukwu Dike; Deputy Director-General, Hon. Ngozi Anya; Director of Election Operations and Logistics, Chief Mascot Obike; Mrs. Stella Okorie; and other members of the campaign team.
