Jaja was re-arraigned alongside a Bureau De Change operator, Aliyu Abubakar, while two other defendants remain at large. They are being prosecuted on a five-count amended charge bordering on money laundering, stealing, and criminal conversion of Bauchi State Government funds.

At the hearing, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. Their counsel, Gordy Uche, SAN, and Chris Uche, SAN, urged the court to allow their clients to continue enjoying their existing bail conditions. They also requested an adjournment to enable proper review of the amended charge.

Prosecuting counsel, Abba Mohammed, SAN, did not oppose the bail application.

Ruling on the plea, Justice Obiora Egwuatu upheld the existing bail terms and adjourned the case to July 21, 2025, for commencement of trial.
