Ariaria Traders Set for Mega Rally in Aba, Endorse Gov. Alex Otti, Emetu, All Labour Party Candidates
The entire executive and trading community of the Ariaria International Market, Aba, is set to stage a mega political rally and endorsement ceremony in support of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, his Deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, and all candidates of the Labour Party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The high-profile rally, organised by the Ariaria International Market Traders Association (AIMATA), is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the A-Line T-Junction of the Ariaria International Market, beginning at 7:00am.

The event is expected to draw traders, market leaders, market stakeholders, political leaders, government officials and supporters of the Labour Party from across Aba and beyond, as the Ariaria trading community formally demonstrates its political support for the Governor and other Labour Party candidates.
Among those listed for endorsement at the rally are Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, candidate for Abia South Senatorial District; Rep. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, candidate for Aba North and South Federal Constituency; Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa, candidate for Aba South State Constituency; Mrs. Ijeoma Florence Euchie, candidate for Aba North State Constituency; and Hon. Stephen Akachukwu Ucheonye, candidate for Aba Central State Constituency

The gathering is also expected to provide a platform for the market community to engage with key political and government figures, with several prominent members of the Abia State administration and Labour Party leadership listed among the special guests and party leaders.
Those expected as Special Guests of Honour include the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, PhD; Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr. Mrs. Salome Obiukwu; Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba; Executive Mayor of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke; Executive Mayor of Aba South Local Government Area, Hon. Obialor Denis Anyanwu; Executive Mayor of Osisioma Local Government Area, Hon. Chidi Agu; Director-General of the Greater Aba Development Authority, Arc. Uche Ukeje; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport, Chief Obioma Rueben Nwogbe, PhD; and Chief Ernest Onyeka Udeaja, popularly known as Mmirimarugo, among others.
The Labour Party leadership expected at the event includes the Abia State Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Peter “The Rock” Azubuike; Chairman of Abia Arise, Mazi Nkem Okoro; Aba North Labour Party Chairman, Elder Ebere Odoemela; and Abia Arise Coordinator for Aba North, Amb. Kenneth Emenike.
With Ariaria International Market serving as one of the commercial nerve centres of Aba and a major hub of enterprise in the South-East, the rally is expected to attract significant attention within the political and business communities.
The organisers described the gathering as an opportunity for the executives and traders of the market to publicly demonstrate their position ahead of the elections and rally behind the listed Labour Party candidates.
The event will be hosted by the Executive of the Ariaria International Market Traders Association (AIMATA).
