Prince Kanu said the industrial action was triggered by concerns relating to staff welfare, including outstanding check-off dues and salary-related matters.

The Commissioner said that Governor Otti had approved the union’s demands as far back as April 2026, but implementation was delayed by administrative processes.

According to him, the Governor last week directed the Secretary to the State Government-led committee to resolve the issues within 48 hours.
