Women across Aba South Local Government Area are set to converge on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, for the 2026 August Women Meeting, an event designed to promote empowerment, unity, participation and sustainable opportunities for women in the local government.

The event will take place at the Priscilla Otti’s Pavilion/Women Square, Aba South Local government council headquarters, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The gathering will be hosted by the Chairperson of Aba South LGA, Hon. Anyanwu Akudo Precious, while the Executive Chairman/Mayor of Aba South, Hon. Anyanwu Denis Obialor, will serve as the Chief Host.
The Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, will attend as the Guest of Honour.
With women increasingly playing pivotal roles in economic development, community leadership and social transformation, the meeting is expected to further underscore the importance of empowering women to thrive, build stronger families and contribute meaningfully to the growth of their communities.
The August women’s gathering is therefore set to be more than a routine meeting, with its theme placing empowerment, resilience and opportunity at the centre of discussions and engagements among women in Aba South.
