Amid claims by some detractors that local government mayors are not doing enough, Hon. Obialor Anyanwu’s administration is responding with concrete development initiatives, including completed projects and several others currently underway.
In Asaokpuaja Community, Eziukwu Ward 1, the Mayor has commenced the construction of a new health centre aimed at bringing essential healthcare services closer to residents. The foundation-laying exercise marks another significant step in the administration’s drive to improve social infrastructure at the grassroots.
Adding to the development is the construction of a rural market directly opposite the health centre. The project is expected to provide a more organised space for local trading activities while supporting the economic wellbeing of residents and small-scale traders within the community.
The projects carry particular significance because Asaokpuaja is the home community of Hon. Obialor Anyanwu. His decision to channel development projects to his immediate community further reflects an administration focused on ensuring that the benefits of local government leadership reach communities at the grassroots.
With the health centre and rural market joining a growing list of interventions across Aba South, the Mayor’s administration continues to put infrastructure and community development at the heart of its leadership agenda.
For the people of Asaokpuaja, the ongoing projects are more than construction sites; they represent tangible signs of development and renewed attention to the needs of th
e community.
