October 07, () – The twenty corps members abducted in Imo State have regained their freedom.
The victims were travelling from Ibadan to NYSC orientation camps in Abia and Akwa Ibom states when the abduction occurred last Thursday.
The abductors initially demanded N50m for each victim but later reduced it to N5m per victim.

The military, the Department of State Services DSS, the Police, and other security agencies secured the release of the 20 kidnapped prospective corps members and another hostage.
The victims are reportedly receiving medical attention at the Department of State Services (DSS) Hospital in Owerri.
