A Nigerian prophet has sparked reactions online after strongly condemning internet fraud and other criminal activities among young people.
In a message directed at youths, the cleric warned against getting involved in “Yah00” and urged those engaging in criminal acts to abandon such lifestyles and learn legitimate skills.
He also had a message for young women who knowingly date men involved in internet fraud, saying he would not take responsibility for defending them or their relationships.
“If you’re a girl here and you’re dating a Yahoo boy, I’m not your father. And if you’re a boy doing Yahoo or engaging in criminal acts, you’re not my son. I don’t know you. Go and learn a trade learn mechanics or learn barbing,” the prophet said.
His remarks have since generated reactions online, with some social media users discussing his firm stance against internet fraud and his call for young people to pursue legitimate means of making a living.
