A Nigerian pastor has voiced his frustration over what he described as a lack of recognition from some members of his congregation.
In a video circulating online, the clergyman expressed disappointment that certain members allegedly fail to celebrate him or acknowledge his birthday on social media, despite his claim that he has stood by them and offered support during challenging moments.
The pastor also took issue with members who regularly share birthday tributes and prayer-session links involving prominent ministers such as Pastor Jerry Eze.
According to him, some church members allegedly seek his prayers during difficult times but later turn to more popular pastors after experiencing financial breakthroughs. He claimed that some of them subsequently channel their tithes and financial support to those ministers.
Questioning the situation, the pastor wondered why members would overlook the person who had reportedly prayed with them and supported them during their struggles while openly celebrating more prominent ministers online.
His comments have since sparked conversations about appreciation, loyalty and the expectations pastors and church members may have of one another.

“It’s very painful that my own church members don’t even celebrate me or my birthday online, despite the fact that I have always been there for them during their trying times. But whenever Pastor Jerry Eze or any other famous pastor is celebrating their birthday or holding prayer sessions, all my members will be busy sharing their prayer links. After we pray for you and you see the results, you will now use the money to pay tithes to them, forgetting the person who prayed for you.”
