A social media user has sparked debate online following his reaction to the ongoing legal case involving Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Poco Lee, in the United Kingdom.

Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Odinaka, is currently facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, including two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and two counts of assault by penetration. The case is before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, with the entertainer scheduled to return to court on September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation.

Reacting to the development, the man suggested that the situation could have been handled differently if the alleged offences had occurred in Nigeria.

According to him, Nigerian celebrities would likely have rallied around Poco Lee because of his reputation and relationships within the entertainment industry.

He argued that some celebrities might have attempted to downplay or conceal the seriousness of the allegations instead of allowing the matter to receive the attention it deserves.

“If Poco Lee had committed that offense in Nigeria, Nigerian celebrities would have found a way to sweep it under the rug. They wouldn’t focus on the r@pe because they believe he’s a good guy,” he said.

His comment has generated reactions online, with some social media users debating whether celebrity influence can affect how serious allegations are treated in Nigeria.
