Fubara Reaffirms Support for Security Agencies

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies operating in the state to enhance peace, safety and public order.

The governor gave the assurance on Monday during the grand finale of the 163rd Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2026 held at the General Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt.

Fubara said the Rivers State Government would continue to provide the necessary support to security agencies to enable them discharge their constitutional responsibilities effectively.

According to him, the success of the military is closely tied to the success of government in maintaining peace and security, assuring that his administration would sustain assistance through the provision of logistics, infrastructure and other institutional support needed for efficient operations.

The governor commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism, operational readiness, technological advancement and manpower development, as demonstrated during the ceremonial parade and military displays at the event.

He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for providing leadership and support to the military in its efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity and tackle security challenges across the country.
