Abia State Leadership Academy Opens Applications for 2026 Youth Leadership Bootcamp
The Abia State Government has officially opened applications for the 2026 edition of the Abia State Leadership Academy (ASLA) Youth Leadership Bootcamp, offering young people across the state a unique opportunity to develop leadership capacity, civic consciousness, and the values needed to become future changemakers.

The academy, a flagship initiative of the Governor Alex Otti administration, is designed to nurture a new generation of ethical, innovative, and service-driven leaders by equipping participants with practical leadership skills, a strong sense of civic responsibility, and a commitment to excellence.
Applications are open to both male and female candidates between the ages of 16 and 20. Eligible applicants include students currently enrolled in senior secondary schools, early-year undergraduates in tertiary institutions, and candidates who have recently completed their Senior Secondary School Examinations.
Prospective applicants are required to provide their Abia State Social Identification Number (ABSSIN), National Identification Number (NIN), and copies of relevant academic credentials for screening and verification. Candidates who successfully meet the eligibility requirements will be invited to participate in qualifying tests and interviews as part of the selection process.
The Abia State Leadership Academy emphasized that participation in the programme is completely free, with all registration, logistics, and training expenses fully funded by the Abia State Government. This commitment underscores the administration’s resolve to remove financial barriers and ensure that talented young people have access to quality leadership development opportunities.
Parents, guardians, teachers, and heads of educational institutions have also been encouraged to support and motivate eligible children, wards, and students to take advantage of what the academy describes as a life-changing opportunity.
The academy noted that participants from the 2025 cohort are not eligible to apply for the 2026 programme.
Interested applicants are expected to complete their registration online at https://leadershipacademy.abiastate.gov.ng on or before Friday, July 17, 2026.
