Abia NDC Reaffirms Position On 2027 Elections, Cautions Voters

The Abia State Chapter of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the general public to exercise caution over reports circulating from Zik FM concerning the party’s position on the 2027 presidential and governorship elections.

In a statement, the party advised members of the public, its supporters and media organizations to verify the authenticity of political reports through officially recognized NDC communication channels before accepting or disseminating them.

The party warned that the circulation of unverified information could create confusion, misunderstanding and unnecessary divisions among party members and the people of Abia State.

Addressing reports surrounding the proposed one-million-man march associated with the Labour Party, the Vote Peter Obi movement and the Vote Alex Otti campaign, the NDC Abia Chapter clarified its stated position on the forthcoming elections.

The party reaffirmed its support for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election while maintaining that Chief Sir Etugo Ndubuisi Ogah remains its governorship candidate for Abia State.

According to the party, support for Peter Obi at the presidential level can coexist with support for the NDC’s governorship candidate in Abia, urging supporters to distinguish between the different political platforms and their respective candidates.

The party further called on Ndi Abia to support candidates committed to good governance, accountability, transparency and sustainable development.
