Aba North Mayor Receives Newly Inaugurated Labour Party Shoe Plaza Executives, Urges Unity Ahead of Elections
The Mayor of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, has received the newly inaugurated executive members of the Labour Party Aba North Shoe Plaza Chapter at his office, reaffirming the importance of unity, cooperation and collective responsibility among party members.
The delegation was led by the Chapter Coordinator, Mr. Magnus Onyenaucheya, during the courtesy visit aimed at strengthening the relationship between the market chapter leadership and the Aba North Local Government administration.
Welcoming the new executives, Mayor Iheke congratulated them on their inauguration and charged them to approach their responsibilities with commitment, discipline and a strong sense of unity.
He stressed the need for the chapter to remain united at what he described as a critical period, urging the executives not to allow internal divisions, personal interests or sentiments to undermine the collective objectives of the Labour Party.
The Aba North Mayor further encouraged the executives to promote inclusiveness among members and ensure that their political activities were not driven by selective support for particular candidates. He urged them to work towards mobilising support for all Labour Party candidates on the ballot, rather than choosing individual candidates based on personal preferences.
According to him, a united party structure remains essential to effective grassroots mobilisation, particularly within the strategic commercial communities of Aba.
Earlier, the Chapter Coordinator, Mr. Magnus Onyenaucheya, explained that the Shoe Plaza executives were inaugurated alongside other market chapter executives at Ariaria International Market.
Onyenaucheya expressed the chapter’s determination to work assiduously towards strengthening the Labour Party at the grassroots and mobilising support across the market community.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of the newly inaugurated executives to ensuring that Labour Party candidates receive strong support from the chapter, including the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
The meeting highlighted the growing importance of market-based party structures in Aba North as the Labour Party continues its grassroots mobilisation and organisational activities across the local government area.
With the new Shoe Plaza executive now inaugurated, attention is expected to focus on strengthening internal coordination, expanding grassroots engagement and building a more cohesive political structure within one of Aba’s major commercial hubs.
