A lady identified as Chiomie has publicly withdrawn a rape allegation she previously made against Nigerian footballer Victor Ebele Jr., admitting that the accusation was false.
In a video shared online on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Chiomie apologised to Ebele, his brother, Frank Chiboy Ebele, and other members of the footballer’s family over the allegations.
She explained that she made the accusation in August 2025 while going through a difficult and highly emotional period. According to her, fear and her state of mind at the time caused her to take matters into her own hands and wrongly accuse the footballer.
Chiomie stated clearly that Victor Ebele did not rape her and urged the public not to continue associating him with the allegation.
“Victor Jr Ebele did not r@pe me. I was going through a difficult time and so frightened I took laws into my hands and wrongly accused him,” she said.
She also admitted that she dragged Ebele’s brother and other members of his family into the controversy when she initially made the allegation.
Expressing remorse over her actions, Chiomie acknowledged that her accusations had affected the footballer and his family and said she regretted the consequences of her actions.
