“Let him reject that ₦500m gift” – Daniel Regha reacts to Pastor Jerry Eze’s luxury house from Obi Cubana
- Daniel Regha has questioned the reported ₦500 million luxury house gifted to Pastor Jerry Eze by Obi Cubana
- Regha argued that the money could instead be used to fund projects that would directly benefit Nigerians, rather than adding to the material possessions of someone he believes is already comfortable.
- His remarks have divided social media users, with some supporting his argument while others told him to allow the businessman and pastor decide how the money or gift should be used.
Social media commentator Daniel Regha has criticised the reported ₦500 million luxury house gift to Pastor Jerry Eze from businessman Obi Cubana, questioning why the cleric should receive such an expensive gift when he already has a comfortable home.
Regha argued that the money could instead be used to fund projects that would directly benefit Nigerians, rather than adding to the material possessions of someone he believes is already comfortable.
“Pastor Jerry Eze is being gifted a luxury house for what exactly? Let him reject that N500m gift. I believe he already owns a good home and lives comfy, he doesn’t need it, nor should he be accumulating material possessions. This is just the rich enriching their circle,” he wrote.
He added: “If Obi Cubana really cares, he should use the equivalent of that N500m to fund projects that can help Nigerians, again, if he truly cares.”
Regha also criticised Obi Cubana’s alleged association with the City Boys Movement, saying: “Because let’s not forget that the same Obi Cubana championed the City Boys Movement, for a govt that is making life difficult for Nigerians.”
His comments sparked mixed reactions, with some Nigerians agreeing that the money could be put to better use, while others questioned his criticism of the gift.
Adeola: “Exactly. ₦500m could change thousands of lives instead of making one already-comfortable person even more comfortable. If we truly care about Nigerians, our priorities should reflect it.”
