Chima Anyaso Launches 2027 Campaign for Bende Reps Seat

The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Anyaso, popularly known as OFUJI, has formally launched his campaign for the 2027 House of Representatives election, pledging to offer accessible, accountable and people-oriented representation.

Anyaso declared the commencement of the campaign on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in an address to the people of Bende, describing the exercise as the beginning of a new phase in his political journey and that of the OFUJI Movement.

He said his aspiration was not driven by personal ambition or political party considerations alone, but by a shared commitment to the future of Bende and its people.

According to him, the campaign is centred on building a stronger, more united and prosperous constituency.

“This journey is bigger than Chima Anyaso. It is bigger than one political party. It is bigger than one election. This journey is about Bende. It is about our children and the future we will leave for them,” he said.

The Labour Party candidate said his desire to represent Bende at the National Assembly was inspired by his belief in the enormous potential of the constituency and its people.

Anyaso said his approach to leadership would be guided by service, responsibility, compassion and accountability, stressing that political office should be regarded as a sacred trust given by the people.

“Leadership is not a title. Leadership is service. It is responsibility. It is compassion. It is the willingness to use whatever God has placed in your hands to improve the lives of others,” he stated.

He promised to provide representation that would remain close to the people, listen to their concerns and account for the trust placed in him.

The candidate identified youth development, agriculture, education, enterprise, healthcare, empowerment and community development as key areas requiring sustained attention.

Anyaso also pledged to run a peaceful and issue-based campaign, saying the OFUJI Movement would reject hatred, insults, bitterness and division.

He assured the people that his campaign would not promote divisions between Bende North and Bende South or pit one community against another.

“We will not turn brothers against brothers because of Politics. Election will come and go. Political positions will come and go, but Bende will remain,” he said.

He urged his supporters to campaign with confidence, humility and respect for political opponents, traditional rulers, elders and other stakeholders.

Anyaso encouraged members of the movement to promote its record of service and vision for Bende, while allowing the electorate to freely make their choice at the polls.

He also highlighted his previous interventions in education, healthcare, youth development, humanitarian support and community assistance, maintaining that his commitment to service predated his political ambition.

“I have never believed that a person must first occupy political office before serving his people,” he said.

The Labour Party candidate appealed to Ndi Bende to give him the opportunity to extend his service through legislative representation, promising to work towards attracting opportunities, empowering constituents, supporting communities and creating more pathways for young people.

While admitting that no leader could promise perfection, Anyaso pledged to remain accessible, responsive and accountable.

He said the campaign would take its message across the constituency, reaching communities, wards, villages and families, while also listening directly to the concerns and aspirations of the people.

Addressing young people, Anyaso urged them to see themselves as more than political supporters, describing them as future entrepreneurs, innovators, professionals and leaders whose ideas must shape the future of Bende.

He also sought the prayers, guidance and support of traditional rulers, religious leaders, elders, women, fathers and other stakeholders.

Formally declaring the campaign open, Anyaso said the movement was beginning its journey with faith, hope, courage and love for the people.

Anyaso said his ultimate goal was to help build a Bende that is stronger, more united and more prosperous.

“Ndi Bende, I am ready. The OFUJI Movement is ready. And I believe Bende is ready,” he added.

He prayed for the people of Bende, the Labour Party, the OFUJI Campaign Team, Abia State and Nigeria, while expressing appreciation to his family and supporters for their encouragement.
