Governor Otti gave the assurance on Saturday at Amaku Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, where he attended the traditional marriage ceremony of Oluomachi Faith Nwaobia; daughter of the Archbishop of Aba Ngwa Province of the Anglican Church, Most Rev Isaac Nwaobia and Chinemerem Jude Emeanaa.

The governor said the development witnessed across Abia since he assumed office has only marked the beginning of his administration’s transformation agenda, acknowledging that some parts of the state were yet to be reached.

He said his administration, which has spent three years and a few months in office, was still implementing its development plans and would continue to expand its reach across the state.

“This is just the beginning. This place has to be a different place and the dignity of our people will be restored.

“We are in the process. We are not there yet. But we’ve just done 3 years and a few months.

“By the time we do 8 years and then bring someone who is better than us, because anybody succeeding me must be better”, Governor Otti said.

The Governor noted the scale of development that could be achieved if the administration’s efforts were sustained over a full eight-year period should give Abians confidence in the future of the state.

So, you can imagine what Abia will look like, and it is possible. So, let us not lose hope. We’ve not touched everywhere, but we are in the process; we will get to everywhere”, he assured.

Governor Otti while congratulating the couple, urged them to approach disagreements with understanding and commitment rather than allowing them to undermine their relationship.

He also used the occasion to acknowledge the role Archbishop Nwaobia played in his political journey, describing him as a man of conviction who consistently supported him even when doing so was not convenient.

According to Governor Otti, the prayers and support of people such as the Archbishop contributed to the success of his political struggle and the progress being recorded in the state.

In his remarks, Archbishop Nwaobia thanked the governor for honouring the invitation to the wedding.

The cleric recalled meeting Governor Otti in 2012 during the opening of the Owerrinta branch of Diamond Bank and subsequently encountering him during a presentation on ways to reposition Abia State.

Archbishop Nwaobia said he was impressed by the Governor Otti’s vision for the state and consequently committed himself to supporting the vision.
